Starting from 2004, power providers were established across Kazakhstan, and AlmatyEnergoSbyt commenced its work in Almaty and Almaty region only since early 2007. AlmatyEnergoSbyt is a part of energy complex of Almaty and Almaty region. Activities of this Company are aimed at power supply to Almaty and Almaty region from various vendors, conclusion of agreements and selling electric power to consumers. Today the energy complex of Almaty and Almaty region includes AlmatyEnergoSbyt, as a power provider, and generating and transmission companies: “Almay Electric Stations” (AlES), generating heat and electric power for Almaty and Almaty region. Currently generated heat and electric power cover approximately 60% of needs of Almaty and the region. AlES includes HPP-1, HPP-2, HPP-3, West Heat Complex, Kapchagay HEPP, Kaskad of Almaty HEPP, Production and Repair enterprise “Energoremont”, Center for fuel acceptance and discharge. “AZhC” – energy transmission company, which transmits and distributes electric power in regional grids with voltage 220-110-35-10-0,4 kV. That is the largest energy system in the south part of the country, dealing with transportation and distribution of electric power for the people, industrial and agricultural enterprises in area of its activity – Almaty and Almaty region. Today “AZhC” supplies power for more than 2.5 mln of people in Almaty region, including 10 districts of Almaty region. All enterprises of Almaty Energy Complex are operated by Samruk-Energy JSC – the structure aimed at consolidation of energy assets, included in “Samruk-Kazyna” Holding, enhancement of corporate governance, development and implementation of modernization program and program of building generating capacities in Kazakhstan. Samruk-Energy JSC was established in May 2007 with the purpose of development and implementation of long-term state policy on modernization of existing and installation of new generating capacities.
